Tomorrow I am starting the Berlitz Swedish total immersion course. I aint looking forward to it and I am if you know what I mean.
I was surfing around for some other experiences and came across a NY Times article titled Total Immersion inĀ Flood of French
Lets hope the teacher is not a Social Democrat eh! ;.-) or an AIK fan
UPDATE just found this report from 1967 in Time, hope they have calmed down since then!

A good test of your abilities before and after the course would be how well you deal with the Swedish spoken in Finland.
I found this earlier (its been a boring day at CERN):
http://arenan.yle.fi/video/306091 (news in Swedish from Finland).
I think once the “accent code” is broken its easier to understand than many other Swedish accents.
Got it working hmm quite used to that accent as quite a few in the office are Swedish speaking Finns.
I think I am scaring myself have a look at this article, ok its from ’67 and from Time Magazine but…http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,839470,00.html
1600 words in one week is impressive…
