Interesting to note the results by Län (County)

STOCKHOLM

Moderaterna   23.9%

Center               3%

Folkpartiet       17.8%

KristianD         3.6%

Social Dems    17.5%

Vänster             5.1%

MiljöPartiet     13.8%

Junilistan         2.5%

Sverige Dems   1.9%

Pirates               7.2%

Some very interesting results. Social Democrats are the third largest in Stockholm BEHIND Moderaterna and Folkpartiet. Very good polling for the Greens, amazing result for the Pirates…though I do wonder what happens when the novelty wears of next time, oh and Junilistan (the anti EU party took a hammering!)

Having watched the various polticians and campaigns I was amazed how civil it all was. No name calling, attack ads etc It did get a little bit nasty between Ohly and Björklund at one point but my Swedish wasnt good enough to get what they said.

My goal now is to improve my Swedish a lot more so that I can understand a lot more of the debates in the big election next year and who knows maybe even help out…..

In regards to the Pirates :
I too wonder what will happen to them in the future, and hope that
this issue of privacy and civil liberties will be amended and that the need for the PP will no longer be needed .

Ideally If FP, Greens and PP could have emerged into a 1 super party I would have been a very happy voter…. I think thats the closest to a “Obama” ideal I could imagine for Sweden.

Look at Junilistan Mark, they self destructed and lost all their seats after a very successful election in 2004.

I have no time for the Socialdemokraterna and Vänsterpartiet but quite like a lot of what the Greens say, just a shame they are in the oppositions corner nationally.
