On Thursday night I got call from Bajen Pete, a fellow Brit who supports Hammarby.
Pete is part of the good bunch of lads I have started watching Bajen with. They were all out for a few drinks on Thursday, but one of our friends didnt show up. Pete explained that Per had been run over by a truck at Skanstull.
Shocking news! I had only seen him a week or so before, very near to the spot where he died, I was cycling past him. Per leaves behind a partner and a young child its tragic news.
Although I only met him twice, we had got on well and I was impressed by his enthusiasm for all things Bajen! He was also very actively involved with Hammarby Bandy at Board level and I was really looking forward to going to Bandy games with him and Pete this winter.
Thats two football friends I have now lost in the space of a few months, both tragically young. RIP Per Svensson.
From Hammarby Bandy site:
er Svensson, 34, was cycling at the junction Ringvägen / Götgatan yesterday when a cementbil suddenly made a left turn. Death was instantaneous.
Sonny Lööf, steering Chairman, commented:
“It is an unspeakable loss. Per was Bajare in body and soul, and made our club invaluable service by his energy and contagious enthusiasm. It is unfair that a good man, a decent man in his best years, dies in this way. Our thoughts go to his family, a lovely wife and a little boy”
It is a warning for all of us who cycle that the roads are dangerous.

Sorry to hear about your mate. Its horrible when someone goes out so young in life.
Per´s funeral, Friday July 31 at 2.00 pm, Katarina Church at Södermalm. Hope to see you on bandy at Zinkensdamm. Per had liked that…

Hej Lasse,
Thanks for posting, wish it could have been in better circumstances. I will attend the funeral to pay my respects.
Oh yes I will be at Zinkensdamm this season, I really enjoyed the match I went to last season. I will make an extra effort to attend more games.
