Public Speaking

in Our Man in Sweden

On Monday I gave my first presentation to 80 or so  Managers in Stockholm. Its the first time I have had to do this in my job and the first one in the Nordics.

I have been suffering with a nasty cold and after the screaming and shouting at Southampton on the Saturday my voice wasnt in best form.

It was a really good event, my presentation was well  received and it was nice to get some positive feedback. Its always a worry whether British humour will carry but I decided to throw caution to the wind and just be myself.

I used to give a lot of talks in time gone by but its seriously been some time since the last one. Surprisingly I wasnt nervous, I had done my prep and even though I had to sit on a round table panel for questions and answers with competitors I felt at ease.

The jokes went down well and got a few laughs, my voice managed to last.

I have always had a talent for public speaking but its never really been used to its full potential…maybe it will now.
