It was a month ago today that I drank last. Ok I had a half glass of belgian cherry beer on New Years Eve but since I had a proper drink it was the Bandy with Eskilstoona on Boxing Day.
I feel good, what with the juicing and running I can honestly say I have not been tempted to have a drink. Now I dont have a drink problem I just tend to go a bit mad on occasion and thats what worries me. I never know when to stop.
Sure I can go out for a meal and have the odd beer, I can also go weeks without a drink but there are some occasions when I dont know that when to stop.
As regular readers know I have stopped drinking for several months before but always start again. Usually because I am bored drinking Coke or fruit juice in the bar. I did read something very thought provoking though on this the other day though.
Why do you need to drink so much when you are out? Someone drinking beer keeps drinking beer because its designed to make you even more thirsty so you drink more and more, therefore increasing the profits. This isnt the case if you are on the soft drinks but why do we feel the need to have a water or soft drink every time someone gets a round in. We are not thirsty its habit.
Some people feel they need to have something in their hand…when its put like that then I have no doubt I will not start drinking again because I am bored of the Perrier….
I have a meeting in Söder today so working from home this morning. Lovely to get a run in this morning, 7kms but it was in minus 7 which I thought we had seen the back off!
For those who have asked this time I have not given myself a time limit off alcohol, I am seriously considering giving it up for good.
Bring on the Earl Grey!
