I do not hide the fact that I didnt support Obama in the election. And today I was absolutely flabbergasted to read that he has won the Nobel Peace Prize?
What for exactly?
If I was John Hume or David Trimble, two guys who won the Nobel Peace Prize for bringing peace to Ulster after many years hard work I would be gutted today and that award the won would seem somewhat less prestigious…

I am a great Obama fan, and think that he brought a gust of fresh air to american politics by being elected (especially after the bush years).
But I am also stunned on his “peace” prize.
He is a great speaker, and has views that if they come into effect will do the world allot of good. But so far there is nothing to justify his peace prize apart from uniting allot of “blacks” and sane “white” people who hated bush.
But I would say that Bush helped united peace more than Barrack, as Bush was hated by so many that they voted for the opposite of what Bush stood for.
The Nobel committee are destroying their credibility with yet another “we love liberal Democrats” award. That’s Carter, Gore and now Obama who got the gong in recent years. At least Carter did something worthy post-presidency. The other two, however have so far done little to win the ultimate accolade.
I support Obama and am pleased he’s the president. However, this decision is bizarre and appalling. Obama should be smart and say he’ll accept it in a special award five years time if he and the committee judge him to be worthy of it then.
Couldn’t agree more. But fancy you taking NI Nobel prize winnets
