I know I keep saying and writing this but Sweden never ceases to amaze me.

I decided on another bike ride but rather than go to the South West as I did last time I wanted to go to South East Stockholm to Nacka Reservat. I met up with a friend of mine who lives there, a local guide is always good. We agreed to meet at Sickla Sluss.

I have only been to Sickla on the tvärbana but it only took me around 20 mins to get to Sickla Sluss from Årstfältet.

We basically cycled to Hellasgården, passing by Sicklasjon and Järlasjön then to Hellasgården. All these lakes are great for bathing and swimming and actually yes even I had wished I had brought my swimming gear as the water looked so inviting. I saw no fishermen all day which confirms my theory that there isnt much fishing done on the lakes in the summer. Here are a few photos of Hellasgården. I loved the fact that there were saunas there and yes the Swedes were running out naked straight into the water!  Maybe I need to try that one day!

They also have a lot of outdoor activities here including orienteering which is something I wouldn’t mind trying actually to the surprise of some no doubt.

Of course we finished the day off with fika! I had a fantastic blueberry pie at a cafe which is also a very ornate garden centre. Here are some photos below and I will add the full version to my flickr page

I love this map that shows different runs around the lake for different distances.
