Tomorrow I am going to Uppsala to watch Hammarby Bandy. I have heard a lot about the final at Studenternas so this will be exciting for me.
Hammarby Bandy have played exceptionally well this season, though they have never won a final.
The glorious day is tinged with sadness though. I was woke up by a text message this morning. It was Janis telling us that there was an article on Per Svensson in todays Dagens Nyheter. Some of you will remember me blogging about our friend Per and his passing away last summer
Jesper Eriksson, a Hammarby player wears number 75 on his shirt as a mark of respect to Per who was born in 1975. The double page spread was titled with the headline ‘ Vi ska ta guldet för Pers skull.‘ Broadly translates to ‘We shall take the gold for Per.’
Its hard not to have a tear in your eyes when you read this very emotional article from a Bajen player about our friend Per. Tomorrow will be a glorious day if we win, I am sure he will be smiling down on the players.
Hammarby Bandy are playing Bollnäs, this is a town in Gävelborg County. As is often the case with Bandy teams, its a small town with only 12,000 population. I am sure most of them will be in Uppsala tomorrow.
Forza Bajen!

OMG, I’m so glad that I’m not in Uppsala tomorrow. Have fun!
I zapped into bandfinalen on SVT, and I really don’t envy you sitting there in the snow storm. I’m amazed that the players don’t loose the ball in all that snow.
Hope you still had a great time. It’s probably very Swedish to endure a snow storm to watch bandy.
Nice weather there I’ve heard.
Absolutely shocking weather, wait till you see the photos! I dont think I have been so cold in Sverige..mainly because none of us were prepared for the snow.
It was so bad that when the tractors had completed carrying away the snow….so much had come down in the meantime they had to go and dig it up again!
Great result though, worth it!!!
