Lars ‘Two Faced’ Ohly

in Swedish Politics

You couldnt make this up.

Lars Ohly, leader of the Left Party ‘Vänsterpartiet‘ is against private schools, fair enough thats what I would expect from the Far Left. However Expressen today reveals both of Lars Ohly’s children go to..yes you guess it private schools!!!

Now where a politicians sends his or her kids to school should be a private and personal matter. But not when you are trying to stop other children from enjoying the same educational benefits.

When asked for a comment about his son being at a private school, Lars Ohly refuses to comment. His Press Secretary answered ‘ you will have to speak his son.

This is typical Leftist hypocrisy. Can the Swedish people really put this guy in the government?

The hypocrisy of the those on the left never fails to surprise me. Its all part of them being “for the people” rather than “of the people”, as they like to pretend to be.

Why is this hypocrisy? You do realize it’s mostly up to his kid to chose where he wants to go for school, I doubt Ohly was the one deciding this for his kid.

If I understand correctly Ohly is their legal guardian? Would he stand by if his kids decided to join Sverigedemokraterna?

I doubt it!

I don’t know anyone who would prevent his kids to go to whatever Gymnasium they wanted, he was probably negative to their choice, but it’s not Lars’ who should be deciding what his kids want to become.

He couldn’t prevent them from joining Sverigedemokraterna if they wanted to. He would obviously not like it, but he can’t prevent it and in the case of choosing Gymnasium he shouldn’t prevent it, it’s not his life. I don’t know about you but I would totally hate my parents for forcing me to a school I don’t want to be at.

Exactly you say he was ‘probably’ negative to his kids choice. So why didnt he come out and explain to the Press? Then I would have had more respect for him.

I find it incredible that he is allowing his kids to make a choice yet if he gets into power he will be against giving other parents and kids that right.

Pot Kettle Black as we say in England.

In the US a reference to a “private school” is a reference to non-governmentally-funded school which does NOT owe its fealty to the State, and whose tuition must be paid by the parents of the student (unless the student is funded by a grant or scholarship). When my sons went to private schools (in the state of Minnesota & in the UK when I worked abroad) I had to pay their tuition and, thus, I had very considerable input into whether they went to these schools, or not. Does your story mean that “private schools” in Sweden are free? Or, does this mean that Lars Ohly has no control over his (minor) son &, similarly, over the manner in which his son spends Lars Ohly’s (hard-earned?) money?
