Korvspecialisten

in Our Man in Sweden

Near work there is a great little korv stand with many different kinds of sausages.

They range from the mild to the spicy and I am always stuck on what to have. The other day I took a Thuringer with ‘dragon’ thats tarragon to us and was lovely. My colleague went for the ‘orientalisk’ and said it was spicy but nice.  It right next to the Mornington Hotel in Östermalm and if you are up there and feel peckish give it a try!

I really had to laugh at the offers of this korvspecialisten… throwing in a lot of German regions where sausages are produced, put them through a grinder and see what comes out of it. A true insider joke that probably not even the korvspecialisten himself understands most probably.
E.g. Thuringia (Thüringen) is the region with the best and most popular Bratwurst in Germany. Weisswurst is typical for Bavaria. So a Thüringer Weisswurst is something like a Sussex haggis, if that’s undertstandable. It’s just hilarious!
