I forgot to mention in my earlier blog how friendly the locals are here.
I found a cracking music shop on four floors today. I jumped in the lift and the attendant was asked a question by another customer. They spent a few minutes sorting something out for him. The other customer got out of the lift a floor before mine and said ‘sorry for holding you up’. Wow!
Even yesterday on the sightseeing bus, there was a fleet of coppers on bikes, a bit like Chips! They were all waving at us on the bus. In general the locals have been very friendly, its been a good start and very striking after cold Swedes, who barely look at you in a lift let alone start a conversation.
Today, I did it, I succumbed and bought an iPad. Very impressed with it so far though I wont customise it until I move here. I cant wait to get into iBooks and have my books all stored on my Ipad, saves so much room and you then have the choice.
I will be doing a lot of travelling in my new post so this thing is ideal. I like the fact I can have 10 hours of films on one battery life if I want. I like the fact I can surf on that when I am away from home and not always having to lug a laptop with me. I know there are a lot more cools apps and will report more as I use it more. I will let you know when I make my first blog post using the Ipad.
