I can remember the Princess Diana saga and how badly The Queen treated her, and how she refused to initially acknowledge her death even though she was the mother of the Princes. I find Monarchy to be self righteous and pompous and serve little for the regular folk. The queen may generate some monies for the country as tourist love her, but not sure what else she does?
